Townsend's Farm Shop, Pembridge. It doesn't look much but don't be deceived. It's all home produced and the meat is good. There is far more meat available than on display - just ask.

George's delicatessen, 25 High Street, Kington (01544 231400). Good deli in time-warped town nearby. Delicious bread.

Dunkerton's cider mill (01544 388653). Within easy walking distance. I'd be very careful - one bottle and you're all over the place. You can also buy delicious chocolates and puddings.

Mousetrap Cheese Farm, Monkland (01568 720307). You can watch Little Hereford cheese being made traditionally by hand in Monkland or visit one of their shops in Leominster, Ludlow or Hereford.

Broadfield Vineyard, Bodenham (01568 797483). Good English wine. Lovely setting and the tour is really interesting.
